School Council

Our School Council is represented by two children from each class, voted in by their peers. Year Six children fill the roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. The School Council meet with Mrs Matthews and Mrs Akrill at least once every half term and, amongst other things, are involved with the design and implementation of school projects and initiatives linked to health, wellbeing and the support of local causes and charities.  The Traffic Snake project which the School Council arranged and was held during our Wellbeing Week in February, was a huge success. At the start of the project 57% of our children travelled to school by car - by the end of the project this was reduced to 17%! The School Council have also set up a weekly morning dance session for each class to participate in, using dance lessons and styles provided by the Change for Life project. Our recent sponsored read, also arranged by the School Council, raised a huge £1323 worth of books!
