School Garden

We are always very busy in our gorgeous school garden, which provides each class with their own ‘plot' where they are able to grow fruit, vegetables and herbs – providing opportunities for learning about where food comes from, healthy eating and cooking healthy foods. Our annual gardening competition, run by the village Gardening Club, is always lots of fun and drives lots of healthy gardening competiveness!

We all love our school chickens and rabbits. Each class takes it in turn to look after the animals for a week, and use the collected eggs for cooking lessons or to have an extra breakfast of scrambled eggs. Our children love to visit the animals during playtimes and lunchtimes - the chickens have become very tame and sociable. We are always looking for families to look after our chickens and rabbits during the school holidays – in exchange for lovely fresh eggs!
